Obituary

Netherwood, Shelley, 62, of Rutland, VT, passed away from pancreatic cancer on June 23, 2016.
Shelley was born on February 10, 1954 in Cape May Court House, NJ to William and Amy Netherwood. She grew up in Linwood, NJ attending the Linwood Schools and Mainland Regional High School. As a child, Shelley became a long distance swimmer. When she was 9 years old, she participated in the Hap Farley Swim, a 2 mile swim in the Atlantic City bay waters and won first place for girls 10 and under.
Shelley graduated from Stony Brook University in New York with a degree in chemistry. She went on to become very successful in her career as a flavor chemist working for Monsanto, Warner-Lambert and Clarendon Flavors; of the latter, she became President and eventual owner of the company.
Shelley was a world traveler and often flew to France assisting Perrier with their flavored waters. She developed flavors that led to many registered patents. At the age of 47, she learned to fly and piloted her own plane for many years to come.
Shelley is predeceased by her father, William D. Netherwood, and her second husband, Robert Kukfa. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Heath Netherwood, and her mother, Amy Netherwood, both of Marco Island, Florida. Shelley is also survived by her first husband, Michael Trama, stepdaughter Tiffany Heath, and her three siblings, Robin Wesner and husband Ralph of Linwood, NJ, Susan Netherwood of La Grange, Kentucky, and William D. Netherwood Jr. of Northfield, NJ, along with nephews, Rick Wilezol, Stuart Wilezol, Richard Rigney Jr. and her niece, Nicole Rigney.
Services for Shelley will be private.
