Paul Z. Bedoukian, PhD

An extraordinary chemist and educator. Many of his publications may be found in the American Perfumer, American Perfumer and Cosmetics, Cosmetics and Perfumery and more recently in Perfumer & Flavorist.
He was also the author of Perfumer and Flavoring Synthetics a leading publication in our industry.

Dr. Bedoukian was associated with Compagnie Parento, Inc. and Maumee Flavors and Fragrances and after 25 years, in 1972 he founded Bedoukian Research as a supplier of high quality specialty aroma and flavor ingredients, while also providing custom manufacturing services to the pharmaceutical and specialty chemical industries.

He was elected to be an Honorary member of the Society of Flavor Chemists on September 9, 1980 where he received the plaque in person from SFC President Dieter Bauer.
