It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Gene Buday on Friday, September 25, 2015.  Mr. Buday was a past President of The Society of Flavor Chemists from 1970-1971 and the chair of the employment committee for many years.  He remained active in the industry until his passing.  Please see his inspirational message below.

We have lost a valued colleague and dear friend.  Our hearts and thoughts are with Gene’s family at this time of grief.

GSB & Associates, Inc. Flavor Creators, Kennesaw, Georgia is sad to announce the passing of its President and Founder, Eugene S. Buday.  He passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 after fighting a long and courageous battle.


Mr. Buday was a certified flavor chemist and past President of The Society of Flavor Chemists.  He remained active in the industry until his passing.  His career began in the late 50’s with Felton Chemical Company.  Buday then worked for several flavor companies, including Polak’s Frutal Works (PFW), Hercules, Synfleur, Fries and Fries, Aromatics International and AFF.  In 1984, he established GSB & Associates, Inc, in Kennesaw, Georgia.  He loved being a flavor chemist and mentored those who worked with him.  He was an avid collector of all types of scales, which are on display at GSB.  Buday’s legacy will be carried on by his family, who all actively work at the company.


Mr. Buday is survived by his wife, Anne Buday, son Steven Buday, daughter Corinne Buday Baskin and son in law Michael Baskin.


Services will be private.  The family asks that any contributions be sent to Wellstar Community Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain, 200 South Park Place, Suite 202, Atlanta, GA  30339.
