Adam Schowalter passed away June 3rd, 2017 at 32 years of age. Anyone attending an SFC meeting in Chicago will remember Adam. He was enthusiastic about his career and very social. The Society will miss Adam, who was on his way to Certification.

Adam Schowalter found his way to FONA in 2008 and was known for his love of flavors and food, plus an incredible sense of humor. Adam started as an applications technologist but developed a passion for flavor creation. This led him to join the apprentice program on the path to becoming a certified flavor chemist. As apprentice flavorist, Adam developed flavors for savory products, snacks, and cereal. Adam truly represented excellence at FONA. There are so many things we will miss about Adam: his positive can-do attitude, his smile, his love for cooking, flavor creation, and bacon – plus his wonderful sense of humor. We say goodbye, not only to an incredibly talented employee, but a cherished friend.
